In a follow up to the previous podcast, Pauline Holmes and I explore implications for writing pedagogy flowing from the dominance of formal argumentation from kindergarten to high school in the value system of Common Core.
We raise concerns and issues that go well beyond our pay grade and sphere of influence. Nonetheless, it’s more than clear that serious trade offs are in play in the Core that shortchange students.
