I saw Roy Cooper, NC Governor, in an oily video asking citizens to put money in a tip jar for teachers and wanted to cry. Megan’s video had been going viral. The contrast between a Southern Republican Governor dialing for dollars for schools and Megan’s tears is heartbreaking. A teacher in Tennessee branded a Marxist by a parent for selecting multicultural books… wonder where this parent learned the word Marxist? The Democratic Party isn’t immune. Race to the Top just after No Child Left Behind isn’t what schools needed. But the conservative knife has reached the beating heart in 2022—bare kindergarten classrooms and identity censorship is unacceptable. The federal government must attend to public school. Yes, vote.
