From More to Less in Three Verses
For this poem I didn’t use the bot to explicate for me in words a mainstream reading of the text. The bot is good for getting a bead on how Everyman or Everywoman might respond after a moderately diligent read. This information is akin to getting peer feedback with a fundamental difference: Bots are not peers. I’m finding less and less value in asking for verbal output for feedback. Bots simply aren’t very good with poetry. Bots think poetry is about rhyming and are befuddled by frame shifting, a hallmark of poetry.
But I find value in the artificial images, the vizzies, at last experimentally, possibly deriving from my inability to use my hands to create images. I always feel a twinge of hopeful excitement when I input the verse and let Dalle-3 spin. Sometimes it’s warranted. I have a feeling it will wane.
